Devi’arre Lucas, Sophomore, San Bernardino Valley College

Lucas has been one of the driving forces behind San Bernardino Valley College’s rise to a No. 9 state ranking. The sophomore outside hitter has recorded 137 kills, ranking third in the conference, while sitting second in kills per set.

Lucas delivered when it mattered most against Saddleback College, coming through with three clutch aces in the fifth set to help secure the Wolverines’ victory. The Redlands High School product is averaging 3.29 kills per set on 372 total attacks and is one of the key players for SBVC.

Alexus Rodriguez, Sophomore, Victor Valley College

Rodriguez has been a key part of Victor Valley College’s success this season, making an impact in nearly every area of the game. She leads the team with 119 kills and 104 digs while ranking second with 21 service aces.

Her production also ranks among the best in the state. Rodriguez is 26th in kills per set, 17th in points per set, and 51st in service aces per set. In conference play, she ranks third in kills per set, first in points per set, and fifth in service aces per set.

Even more impressive, Rodriguez has already surpassed her statistical totals from last season with half of this year still remaining. Her continued growth, consistency, and all-around production have made her an important part of the Rams’ success.

HONORABLE MENTION

Shannon Frary, Sophomore, Mt. San Jacinto College

Shannon Frary has been a consistent presence for Mt. San Jacinto College on both sides of the net. A versatile middle blocker who can play anywhere along the front row, she is hitting .308 and averaging 1.20 blocks per set in conference play.

Her impact extends well beyond volleyball. Frary currently carries all A’s while balancing the demands of being a college athlete and working as a youth tutor.

Violet Tucker, Freshman, Copper Mountain College

Violet has stepped up in a big way for Copper Mountain College, leading the team with 55 digs while also becoming a strong presence at middle blocker.

Off the court, she is pursuing a degree in psychology with plans to become a therapist. A former soccer and volleyball player, Violet credits volleyball with teaching her patience with herself and others. Her impact as both an athlete and teammate has made her an important part of the Fighting Cacti program.

Seliah "Seesee" Smith, Sophomore, Cerro Coso College

The sophomore libero from Fort McDowell, Arizona, has been a key part of her team’s success this season. She leads the conference with 4.61 digs per set and 20 service aces while ranking third in total digs.

At just 5-foot-3, she has made a big impact on the court and shown tremendous growth throughout her sophomore season. Her play has helped the program achieve the best non-conference record in school history.
